The custom design process can take anywhere from a few days to a few months, depending on the product. Most often, it takes place via email and phone.
Here is an overview of how the design process usually works:
1) Contact us with information about the product you are interested in, providing as much detail about your event, timeline and budget as possible.
2) We then will provide you with pricing information for your project and can put together some digital mockups if you'd like. You may order color swatches or sample pocketfolds at any time.
3) When you are ready to move forward, we then work together to adjust the design. Depending on the project, you may be asked to place a nonrefundable deposit at this point. Once we settle on a design, you send us the information for your invite text (names, locations, meal choices, etc.) and we send a final digital proof to you via email. You can also request a hard copy of the actual invite to be mailed to you for an additional charge.
4) After you approve the final proof, we invoice you for payment and production begins. Your invites will take about 4-6 weeks to produce at this point.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What type of printing do you use?
A: All designs are flat printed with either ink or laser, though thermography (raised printing) can also be done on most designs for an additional charge. Please note that thermography is outsourced and can add additional time to your order.
Q: Can you print on metallic cardstock?
Yes! Printing on metallic paper is now available.
Q: Can printed pieces be returned?
A: Unfortunately, because each piece is custom designed our products are not refundable unless the error is ours. Please note that we lay out the text of your design exactly as you send it to us and do not typically proofread it for grammar or spelling mistakes. This is why it is important for you to carefuly review your proofs before printing begins.
Q: I have a very specific design in mind or have already developed a monogram. Can that be incorporated?
A: Yes! Please feel free to send us pictures of designs you like or motifs you've developed.
Q: Can I order a sample?
Yes and we encourage you to do so. Sample packs include an invitation pulled from a current order, swatches of paper in your theme and printing samples.
Q: Why does the color of the print look different in person than on my computer screen?
A:Color can be displayed quite differently on a computer screen than it will in print. If you are ever concerned about color, please inquire BEFORE your order is placed.
Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: We accept paypal payments. Orders are placed after your payment clears.
Note: Because each invitation is handmade and not assembled by a machine, small inconsistencies among pieces may occur. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
